Meet Dr. Matthew McFarland

My name is Matthew McFarland and I am the Principal at Lincoln Elementary School. I am very excited to be your principal and greatly look forward to the upcoming school year. I currently reside in New Oxford, Pennsylvania with my wife, three children, and our black labrador retriever. We enjoy spending time together and engaging in many different adventures outside.

I am a graduate of York College of Pennsylvania, where I studied elementary and special education. After this, I completed my master’s degree in educational administration at McDaniel College in Maryland. Most recently, I obtained my doctoral degree in educational leadership from Immaculata University. While at Immaculata University, I focused my research on working together both professionally and personally inside the elementary school environment in order to create and develop the most effective setting for students to learn and grow. I have spent ten years of my career teaching 2nd grade and coaching high school and elementary wrestling in the Conewago Valley School District.

Throughout my career I have learned that children are destined to succeed and empowered to develop self-worth, self-discipline, and confidence that will follow them throughout adulthood. Inspiring curiosity in students, along with a love and desire to learn is the greatest gift that you can give a child. At Lincoln Elementary School we strive to provide you and your family with an education in a safe, nurturing, student-centered environment. It is our goal here at Lincoln Elementary School to instill in our students a life-long commitment to learning. I believe with the resources, technology, curriculum, and dedicated staff here at Lincoln Elementary School we can accomplish this goal. We want our students to walk out of our doors each day better prepared to face life’s challenges than when they walked in. I feel honored and privileged to be  the principal at Lincoln Elementary School and look forward to working with you and your family this year and for many more years to come.

Sincerely,
Dr. Matthew E. McFarland
